Today, it is becoming more and more popular to be a vegan. That is, eliminating all animal-based products from your diet. Some do it for a better environment, while others do it to avoid funding animal cruelty.
It is, of course, up to you what you choose to put inside your body. But lately, it seems that being a vegan comes with a lot of drama.
Partly for those who think confrontation and harassment are the only ways to move your cause forward.
As a restaurant owner, you can sell any food you want. If people dislike the menu, they’ll go somewhere else. Everyone has different tastes, after all.
However, a restaurant got tired of the guests demanding vegan food – so they decided to fight back with a hilarious idea, reports Unilad.
The restaurant chain Arby’s, after offering the same classic menu for many years, got tired of their guests demanding vegan food on it. So they came up with a hilarious way to show vegan enthusiasts their stance on the subject, by creating a carrot – made of meat.
Not so vegan carrots
This meaty carrot goes by the name marrot. A mix of the words meat and well… carrot, and is made from turkey breasts.
The breasts are boiled before being rolled in carrot powder to finally be roasted in the oven, then they add some parsley on the ends to make them look like a carrot.
“What Americans really want”
Jim Taylor, Marketing Manager at Arby’s, said:
“Plant-based meats are the latest incarnation of making vegetables look like what Americans really want, which is great, tasty meat.
“Universally, people know we’re supposed to eat vegetables every day. But 90 percent of Americans don’t eat the recommended amount. So we said if others can make meat out of vegetables, why can’t we make vegetables out of meat?”
Even if I think being vegan is a noble goal, I definitely believe you can always take things with a bit of humor!
