Most people are happy with the butt they were born with. Others wish they had a smaller behind—and some would give anything to have the biggest badonkadonk in the neighborhood.
I honestly do not mind either way. But it seems that women with more prominent buttocks can rejoice after the latest news.
ABC reports that a new study has concluded that thicc ladies are generally healthier. And give birth to more intelligent children.
Some people might say “move your fat ass,” meaning it as an insult—but that might not be the case anymore.
Less risk of certain diseases
Researchers at the University of Oxford and Churchill Hospital in the UK have, in a well-publicized study in the Journal of Obesity, concluded that there are several benefits to a larger butt.
According to the results presented in 2010, women with more substantial behinds are less likely to suffer from a number of chronic diseases. According to Cosmopolitan and several other media outlets, girls with wider ends generally have lower cholesterol, which means fewer heart problems and a reduced risk of diabetes.
The researchers also believe that fat accumulating in the buttocks generates hormones that break down sugar and other substances better. Compared to, for example, belly fat, which releases hormones that have the opposite effect.
“If you’re going to have fat, you’re definitely better off if you’ve got some fat in the lower body,” says Michael Jensen, director of endocrine research at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.
Have smarter kids with a big butt
He believes that people with a “pear shape” are significantly healthier than those who, for example, have a lot of fat on the upper body.
In addition, it often takes a certain amount of omega-3 fats to get a big butt—which has been proven to help brain development.
The study further concludes that women with wider hips also have smarter children. This is partly because omega-3 fats transfer to the son or daughter via breast milk.
So the next time someone tries to make fun of your big butt—turn it into something positive instead. According to this British study, you are both healthier and will have smarter children.
