Sex is one the most meaningful, connecting and fulfilling acts we can experience as humans. However, when it comes to things that sexually arouse us, things vary greatly from person to person, we all are different after all.
Still, some things work on most people, like for example certain fragrances. Scents and perfumes are something experts have studied for generations, which led to the discovery that fragrances like vanilla and lavender can have aphrodisiac effects. However, a new study discovered that the smell of cinnamon can makes us horny.
There are many factors to consider when it comes to human desires. Feeling safe, feeling healthy, your surroundings, and plenty of other things. But one of the most important elements affecting our lust is the smell.
Cinnamon rolls make us horny
Scents can arouse us, but which scents work on who is very individual. A study led by Alan R. Hirsch, a researcher from the Smell and Taste Treatment and Research Foundation at the University of Chicago, has found some scents make us hornier than others.
“In the study, we asked participants to smell different odors, measuring the flow of blood to their penis or vagina, and comparing it to when no odor was present. It turned out that the smell of cinnamon rolls caused the highest amount of blood to flow, which happens during sexual arousal,” Hirsch reported on the study.
It can backfire with women
The study included both male and female participants, and the results turned out to be significantly different for both genders. The men in the study turned out to get aroused by most scents. However, for the female participants in the study, fewer scents increased blood flow while some scents even decreased it.
In other words, it’s time to stop spending money on expensive perfumes – and start baking cinnamon rolls instead!
