For adolescents, it is normal to want to go out at night to have fun. This is to enjoy dancing, drinking, flirting, and anything that comes in between. Of course, this also goes for adults; however, we can assume that most people attending nightclubs are usually young and/or single.
Meeting new characters and mingling around is both fun and educational for young adults. They learn the kind of people they like, and therefore, they understand more about themselves.
A few years back, it was customary for the man to pick up the bill in a restaurant or the drinks while flirting in a bar.
But thanks to a more progressive equity slowly growing inside our society, today, splitting the bill or women paying for drinks has become a common sight.
However, in the case of 20-year-old Chlo Matthews, the way things went down was anything but normal, reports The Mirror.
You are on a night out, at a bar, suddenly, you see someone you like, after you hype yourself up, the next step is to walk over there, say hello, and ask if you can buy them a drink. It is one of the oldest ice breakers and can immediately let you know if the other party has any interest whatsoever.
Asked if he could buy her a drink
When 20-year-old British Chlo Matthews was out with her friends, a young man approached her and asked if he could buy her a drink.
Chlo, who was a bit interested in the man, said yes, and they both seem to get along well during the night.
As the evening drew to a close, they exchanged phone numbers with each other so that they could keep in touch.
Pretty successful night, thought Chlo, but things did not go at all as she imagined.
Chlo: “Who is this?”
Chlo actually received a message from this young fella the next day, but it was not to ask her out or have a friendly chat.
“Officially retiring from nights out”
Chlo obviously said no and posted a picture of their conversation online, along with the text:
“So a guy invited me for a few drinks when I was out yesterday. We exchanged numbers, and then this happened. I’m officially retiring from nights out.”
The picture has was retweeted over 60,000 by other users since then. And Chlo has received support from several others who do not understand where this guy’s decency is.
“It must be a joke!” wrote a user.
“I’m speechless! What the hell is wrong with people? Send him a penny, that’s all he’s worth!” wrote another.
You really wonder if chivalry is dead when you read things like this!
