Everyone needs some time to themselves, that’s a given. We all need to be alone every now and then to recharge our batteries and feel good.
There are different ways of getting that “me” time. And according to a new study, men do it by fleeing to the bathroom, Ladbible writes.
The study polled 1000 men, and the researchers found that men hide in the WC for 7 hours a year on average – not because they need to go, but in order to have a bit of peace and quiet.
Nagging and kids are the main reasons
The men who participated in the study said that nagging partners, demanding kids and boring chores were the main reasons for why they were hiding away.
“The bathroom is very much a sanctuary, a place where we can cut ourselves off from the outside world, albeit just temporarily. Peace and quiet is sacred, and clearly men take the opportunity to get this where they can – often in the bathroom.” says a spokesperson at the company who conducted the study.
25% of the men in the study even went so far as to say that if they couldn’t get that escape to the bathroom from time to time, they “don’t know how they would cope”.
Even though this study may not apply to all men, I think I finally know where my husband disappears to when it’s time to clean! Press the share button to tell your friends about this!
