Contest: Masturbate every day throughout May – and win $1,000

Everyone (that has gone through puberty) has a sexual drive, it’s a biological process necessary for us to survive as a species, nothing strange. Obviously, our libido, or sex drive, varies between each individual. Some people are fine with having sex once a month, and others can’t go 5 minutes without thinking about it.

People that don’t have a partner to enjoy intercourse, just have to do it by themselves, there is absolutely nothing strange or shameful about it. But even though it’s the year 2019, the stigma around masturbation is still present and most people are afraid of being open about it.

To fight against this, a contest has been announced, where participants have to masturbate at least ten minutes a day – throughout the whole month of May. The winners will receive $1,000, according to Ladbible.

Masturbating is a perfect way to get to know your own body, and, well… it feels awesome, right? And now you can even get money for it – and win sex toys and tools worth up to $1,000.

Masturbate every day – throughout May

Behind the kinky idea lies Amy Baldwin and April Lampert, two American women who run a podcast called “Shameless sex”.

The competition rules are:

Participants must be at least 18 years old and masturbate at least ten minutes each day, without using aids such as porn or sex toys. This is to completely focus on their own body and pleasure.

Every week, participants must write an anonymous letter to Amy and April summarizing what they have learned about their own body and feelings.

When May is over, a winner will be drafted from a raffle. The winner will receive a luxurious package of sex-related products, such as vibrators, lubricants, manuals, and even lessons.

De-stigmatizing masturbation

The purpose of the competition is to get rid of that taboo feeling that masturbation still has in most people, it is not something to be afraid of.

“The intention of this challenge is to help de-stigmatize #selfpleasure while also giving participants an opportunity to connect with their own pleasure/body on a deeper level.” they wrote on Instagram.

The challenge is already an enormous success, and the duo has been overwhelmed with positive feedback.

“Let the competition begin!” Wrote an excited follower.

“I will give my best!” Wrote another.
