Fashion is, at times, incomprehensible. It feels like trends come and go faster than we can blink. One day it’s super tight clothes that look suffocating, and the next, garments are so loose that it seems like they’ll fall off at any time. This, of course, includes shoes.
When it comes to women’s footwear, I always fail to understand the latest trend. But the question is whether or not this new fad is the worst we’ve seen so far.
It combines regular training sneakers and high heels, reports The Sun.
Shoe fashion has changed a lot in the past few decades, and it is perhaps only natural that different trends come and go. After all, fashion is an ever-changing beast that no one can predict.
Nike Sneakers – with heels
But the question is: are we starting to reach the limit when it comes to shoes?
The Romanian designer Ancuta Sarca, who lives in London, has developed a completely new shoe trend.
You see, it’s old Nike training shoes that have been completely recycled and fitted with heels.
It all started when Ancuta realized that she had a lot of sneakers lying around without purpose.
“I wanted to place trainers in a different landscape, giving them a completely new function – elegant and feminine by pushing the boundaries of what they can become. Why Nike? I always loved the aesthetics, it has a huge role in sportswear history, and the logo looks rather funny and unexpected on heels,” said Ancuta to Vice.
Mixed online reactions
Ancuta regularly posts pictures of her creations on her Instagram page, where opinions around fashion clash pretty abruptly.
On the one hand, Ancuta has thousands of followers online who appreciate her innovative shoes.
But on the other, most people don’t really understand why and where someone would use these shoes.
