I think good police officers deserve more recognition for their service. They have a tough job, and whenever I’ve had to deal with them, they have been professional and friendly.
What the old lady in this fictitious funny story did wasn’t exactly the moral thing to do – but the twist at the end had me in stitches! This woman is ingenious!
I just had to share this little story with you. Shared joy is double joy!
One day, 91 year old Linda from Minnesota called the local police department.
“Hello, my name is Linda Smith on 250th Street. Is this the police?”
“Yes, this is the police department. What can I do for you, ma’am?”
“I’m calling to report my neighbor, 85 year old Billy Bob Smith! I’m pretty sure that he is hiding huge amounts of drugs inside his big woodpile.”
“I see. Thank you for your call, ma’am, we will make sure to investigate this at once.”
The next day, cops descend on Billy Bob’s house, weapons drawn and sirens blaring. They search the shed where the firewood is kept. Using axes, they bust open every piece of wood, but find no drugs.
After a few hours of searching, they give up and leave.
The truth comes out
The phone rings at Billy Bob’s house.
“Hey, Billy Bob, this is Linda! Did the police just come by your place?”
“Yep!”
“Did they chop your firewood?”
“Yep, how did you know?” Billy Bob asks, surprised.
She replies in a whispering voice:
“Happy Birthday, old buddy!”
