What’s the longest bathroom visite you’ve had? If you sit on the toilet for too long, often when you get up, you realize your legs have fallen asleep. The tingling from when the blood starts flowing again is an awkward/hilarious moment of vulnerability.
But imagine how 48-year-old Jimmy De Frenne felt, after he, according to himself, set a world record for sitting on a toilet, reported Reuters Television.
Jimmy spent 116 hours sitting on a toilet.
116 hours is 4 hours short of 5 days. That’s exactly the time Jimmy De Frenne, a man from Belgium, spent sitting on a toilet seat, trying to set a world record for the longest bathroom visit.
“Why not?”
Why did he want to set a world record?
“Self-mockery is the best humor there is. Why am I doing this? Why not? There is nothing I like more than people making fun of me because then I can do the same with them,” he says according to RT.
Had to take bathroom breaks
The toilet that Jimmy sat down on was in the middle of Filip’s Place bar, a famous pub in his home town of Ostend.
The toilet itself was not connected to any drainage system. This resulted in Jimmy – ironically – having to take bathroom breaks from his bathroom break.
No official world record
Unfortunately, there is no official world record for the longest bathroom break, but Jimmy claims to have heard of a person who spent a hundred hours on a toilet seat – something Jimmy surpassed by 16 hours.
Eventually, Jimmy gave up.
“I’m very tired and my legs hurt but I believe in my success and try to make this record official,” he concluded.
Reuters TV was not able to get a comment from Guinness World Records.
