Cats are smart animals that learn quickly. It’s no coincidence that they go to sit by the door and meow when they want to be let out. Humans may train cats, but it goes both ways – cats also train humans so that they can get their way.
Some cats are especially clever, and their intelligence makes them stand out from the crowd.
Mulder is one such cat. His owner had started waking up in the middle of the night due to the family cat opening the bedroom door. If you tell a cat that something is off-limits, odds are that he’ll take it as a personal affront and will do anything to get in.
Tub of water
The clip below (which has more than 22 million views on youtube) shows what Mulder does when he’s shut in a room where he doesn’t want to be – he simply escapes.
To prevent the cat from waking them in the middle of the night, the owner put a tub of water in front of the bedroom door.
As I’m sure you know, most cats don’t like getting wet. Their dry fur has insulating properties that are diminished by moisture. Mulder may not like water, but he has a devious plan to still get his way.
Now watch what he does. This is absolutely fascinating! I can’t help but smile when I see this clever kitty’s solution!
