Getting a grip on how a country really works can be a real head-scratcher. There are different branches of government, committees, counties and so on. What happens where, when and how?
The Dad in this story tried to explain all this to his young son, but he had no idea that it would come back to bite him the next day. The ending gave me a good, long laugh, and I just had to share this story with you!

Little Trevor comes back from school and sits down at the kitchen table. He looks pensive, and soon turns to his Dad who’s at the stove, preparing dinner.
“Dad, we’re supposed to write an essay, and I was wondering if I could ask you something.”
“Of course son, shoot!” his Dad replies cheerfully, happy to be able to help.
Trevor asks, “What’s politics?”
“Well son, it’s like this. I’m the breadwinner of the family, so let’s call me Capitalism. Mommy is the one who handles and administrates the money, so let’s call her the Government. We’re here to take care of your needs, so let’s call you the People. The nanny, well, let’s call her the Working Class. We could call your baby sister the Future. Does that make sense to you?”
Trevor nods, his brows furrowed with concentration. “I think so, thanks!”
Little Trevor goes off to bed, pondering what his Dad had said.
Dad and the nanny
Later that night, he hears his baby sister crying. He runs to her room and sees that she has soiled her diapers. Trevor goes to his parents’ bedroom, but he sees that his mom is sound asleep.
Not wanting to wake her, he goes to the nanny’s room.
Strangely, the door is locked. He looks through the keyhole, and sees his father undressing the nanny. He sees him kiss her neck and put his hands under her shirt, and the nanny moans softly. They didn’t notice Trevor’s light knocks, so he gives up and goes back to bed.
The next morning, the little boy says to his father, “Dad, I think I understand how politics work now.”
“Good, son! Let me hear you describe it with your own words.
Trevor replies, “Well, while Capitalism is screwing the working class, the Government is sound asleep, the People are being ignored and the Future is in deep shit!”
