Renovating the kitchen is probably something that most people try to avoid at all costs. How expensive is it going to be? Will it fit with the rest of the house? Can it be a DIY?
The questions are many, and the answers usually bring up more inquiries than solutions.
But the fact is that you don’t have to rip out the whole thing to give the kitchen a completely new look.
You just need to be a little creative—like Chris, the man who used old beer caps he collected to renovate his kitchen, reports Thought Nova.
Remodeling the kitchen means you either have to be a craftsman yourself or hire expensive carpenters to do the work for you. It involves a lot of money and planning. However, it doesn’t have to be that difficult.
Thousands of caps over five years
Chris, who talks about his kitchen on Imgur, started collecting caps from beer bottles five years ago.
The capsule collection grew and grew. Family and friends helped him by donating their caps.
Chris doesn’t know exactly how many caps he collected, but it surely was in the thousands.
Sorted all caps by color
Together with his “gang,” consisting of friends, children, and family, they painted the kitchen counter black.
Next, his children organized all the caps in color order.
Then Chris took the caps and laid them out on the kitchen counter.
Gets people talking
Then Chris glued the caps by pouring epoxy resin on top of them.
In the end, the family had a brand new kitchen bench, which is unique and adds personality to the room.
The kitchen bench also gives guests who don’t know each other an excellent ice breaker, which everyone appreciates.
