For us living on the north side of the country, this is the time of the year when we spend a good ten to twenty minutes every morning scraping ice from our frozen windows.
As if it wasn’t enough having to get up in the morning and walk in freezing temperatures, we also must stand in the snow trying to get the car ready, wondering if we are going to make it to work on time.
However, a woman from the UK seems to have found an ingenious trick that will make scraping frozen windows a walk in the park from now on, reports Manchester Evening News.
When snow falls, winter feels beautiful and cozy. Everything looks white and calm outside. Lying down under a bunch of blankets and snuggling up with a warm cup of tea on the sofa, waiting for Christmas, which is around the corner.
It doesn’t get much better than that. What we all could do without, however, is the perpetual scraping off the frozen car windows.
Somewhere in the car, often under the seat, you have to find your plastic ice scraper and then stand for what feels like an eternity trying to clear your windshield and windows, it can get old pretty quickly.
Such was the case for the English woman Angela Hickling, who got tired of scrapping the windows – so she invented her own, smart ice scraper.
A spray bottle with a brush
Angela was at her boyfriend’s house and started looking for something to scrape the windows with. She came across an empty spray bottle that had previously contained carpet cleaning.
Angela filled the empty bottle with hot water and then used the brush that came with the bottle to scrape her car’s windows.
The warm water made quick work of the ice, and in just a few seconds, she got the windows completely free of frost.
“I’m a genius!”
Angela took some pictures to immortalize her brilliant idea and then posted them online.
“I’m a genius. Get yourself one of these bottles, fill it with warm water and you’re sorted. No cold hands scraping anymore and it cleans your window screen too, the brush bit is ideal. Off to work now, have a great day people.” Angela posted on Facebook.
The frozen hack went viral
Angela’s idea is now being cheered all over the web, and thousands have used her clever trick.
“I was just looking through my boyfriend’s cupboard to find some sort of gadget as I really didn’t want my fingers freezing off, and saw the bottle. It was a light bulb moment.. I filled it with warm water and it worked perfectly. I was so happy.” Angela told Manchester Evening News.
