Owning one or two sex toys is pretty typical—but a 28-year-old mother from England, Elysia Downings, has taken it to the next level. She owns over $3,500 worth of sex toys, reports The Mirror.
Elysia Downings is a single mother from the British city of Derby. Her interest in sex toys began at an early age but has now escalated to become a proper addiction.
“Vibrators have replaced my sex life,” Elysia told The Mirror.
“Anything that vibrates”
It all started when Elysia began to discover her own body. Since she did not own any sex toys at that time, she had to get creative.
“When I was 13, I didn’t have sex toys, so I used household items instead—back massagers, toothbrushes, anything that vibrated.
“I was 17 when I bought my first toy, and straight away I was hooked,” Elysia said.
And there would be many more to come.
Makes it hard to date guys
Since the first dildo purchase, it has only continued to become a respectable collection of toys, valued at over $3,500—the more expensive ones cost over $100.
Her impressive collection has made it difficult for Elysia to date guys.
“I understand sex toys can make men feel insecure, but they have to accept that anything with batteries will always get the job done quicker and more efficiently. They won’t judge my naked body if I feel self-conscious. They won’t cheat on me and they won’t break my heart,” said Elysia.
Uses sex toys up to ten times a day
Elysia describes herself as dildo independent and never leaves home for more than a day without a toy.
“They’re often the first thing I think about when I wake up in the morning and I use them up to ten times a day. The more I use my toys, the more dependant I become. If I’m going away for a night or two I’ll take a discreet toy with me to use when I’m alone,” Elysia told The Mirror.
Made a career in the dildo industry
Elysia refuses to be ashamed of her addiction and has even made it her career. She has just started her own dildo company, Betsy Boudoir.
“I don’t feel I should be ashamed. Some women have a thing for shoes or bags, I just happen to get my thrills from sex toys.”
