April is a wonderful month. The heat starts to come back, and you can finally sit outside to enjoy the sun. The extra hours of light can also help cheer up your body and mind.
Another benefit of April is the pranks. Admittedly, they only happen on April 1st. Still, the results and reactions from that day give us enough laughter for the rest of the month.
Perhaps one of the world’s most viral clips – which has amassed over 74 million views – comes from a college classroom in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Stephen Barrows is a professor of economics at Aquinas College. One day, he was tired of the students’ phones ringing during his lessons. So he put a policy in place that whenever a phone started ringing, the owner had to answer it on speaker.
Pregnant notification
On April 1st, Taylor Nefcy’s mobile suddenly started ringing.
As per the teacher’s policy, she had to answer her phone on speaker so everyone could hear the conversation.
“Hello, is this Ms. Nefcy?” the conversation begins. After she answers affirmatively, the caller continues: “Hi, this is Kevin from the Pregnancy Resource Center. Per your request, I’m contacting you to inform you that the pregnancy test results have returned positive. Congratulations!”
Professor Stephen quickly told the student she could switch off the speaker, but the conversation continued anyway.
“I know you told us the father is no longer in the picture, but we will be in contact with you throughout this process,” said the person calling.
The teacher panicked and sincerely apologized to the student. She said it was okay since she was already expecting the call.
“They really fooled me”
She even knew what she was going to name the baby.

When the teacher understood what was happening, he released a sigh of relief. He praised the prank and learned that another student had recorded everything. He took the whole thing very well!
