Renting a place you own can be a bit tricky. You don’t want people to think you are too strict, but at the same time, you want tenants to treat the property with care and respect. The best solution to this dilemma is to set a deposit that looks reasonable to both parties.
However, American housing is currently a big mess – especially in big cities like LA or New York. Many landlords take advantage of how difficult it is to find a place to rent and push tenants to pay ridiculous amounts of money.
Personally, when I rented my place a few years ago, I made sure it felt like a fair deal for everyone. I wanted my tenants to treat the apartment as their own, something challenging if they think you are taking advantage of them.
It went very well for the most part, but some landlords are not as lucky – like the Frenchman Thomas Ravaux.
Horrible tenants
He rented his apartment to terrible tenants (to say the least), this family didn’t pay a single penny during the 14 months they spent there. When he finally got them to move out, the condition was nothing like back when he handed it over to them.
British news site The Sun has reported that the apartment was completely destroyed. The decor and furniture were almost completely trashed.
Thomas had had enough – and decided to take revenge on the ungrateful, greedy, and rude tenants.
The perfect revenge
He packed up all the trash the family had left behind in a truck – and drove to their new address to pay them back for everything they’ve done. As you can see in the clip below, Thomas then dumped everything outside his ex-tenants’ door.
He got to enjoy his long-awaited revenge – and the family got a fat load of “karma” to remind them that everything comes around eventually.
In a post on Facebook, Thomas wrote:
“Shame on you. This is how these people returned my apartment. To live like this with three children, you should be ashamed!
“It’s definitely one of the worst I’ve seen. It’s quite sad to see how badly some people can treat something that does not belong to them. I hope they learned their lesson and start respecting the rest of us. If not for themselves, at least for the sake of their children,” he wrote.
