There are always fools on the road – and I’m probably not the only one that, every now and then while driving, raises their voice in frustration. Sometimes you just wonder why it’s so hard for some people to follow the laws when sitting behind the wheel.
The question now is who the worst drivers are.
A new study from the UK says that people driving Ford cars are the “unluckiest” of all, reports Ladbible.
BMW drivers drive too fast
Car salesman Peter Vardy surveyed over 2,000 drivers. This study concluded that Ford owners are the worst drivers on the roads. As they gave themselves a rating of 7.3 out of 10 for how sharp they are behind the wheel. However, they also felt that everyone else on a car would only deserve a six.
Almost all drivers surveyed saw themselves above all the others – except for Smart owners.
The study also found that BMW enthusiasts were most likely to drive too fast or act disrespectfully in traffic.
When it comes to gender, which was also part of the study, it turns out that men are 10 percent more likely to get caught speeding – even though men, in general, consider themselves to be significantly more skilled behind the wheel than women.
Ford owners usually have tickets
Claire Rogan, Digital Marketing Manager at Peter Vardy, believes that the discrepancy between drivers’ actual wrongdoings and remarks versus how they view their own driving skills is something that should cause concern.
“The research shows that, on average, drivers perceive their own driving skill level as higher than those around them. Taking proper due care and attention when behind the wheel should always be at the forefront of our minds when in control of a car, so it is surprising to see our research indicate that over half of all drivers have been penalized for driving offences,” Said Claire to Ladbible.
Only 55.4% of Ford owners in the survey – which was by far the worst in the list – had no tickets in their record.
“Safety is a key priority for Ford, and we encourage our customers who use Ford vehicles and services to do so in a safe and responsible manner and to comply with any legal requirements,” a spokesperson for the well-known car manufacturer told Ladbible.
