Few things are as nice as the first cup of coffee early in the morning. It’s steaming hot and smells wonderful. It’s time to face another day, and what better than a cup of liquid black gold to help you start.
But how much coffee can you drink before it becomes dangerous?
According to a new study, you can drink up to 25 cups a day without being at risk of having a heart attack, reports the site CNN.
There have been many studies on how coffee affects us. Most of us would agree that coffee cheers you up and gives you a little push in the mornings when you’re tired. Something else most people agree on is that too much coffee is not good for the body – until now.
Can ingest liters of coffee – every day
A study conducted at Queen Mary University in London showed that you can drink liters of coffee every day with no risk to your health.
The study included over 8,000 participants, which researchers divided into three groups depending on how much coffee they consumed daily.
The first group contained people who said they drank one cup or less every day, the second group claimed they consumed between one and three cups a day, while the third group said that they drank over three cups a day, with some claiming they drank up to 25 cups of coffee every day.
“Doesn’t affect blood vessels”
Previously, we were worried that too much coffee can create problems for the blood vessels and eventually lead to a heart attack, but according to Kenneth Fung, who led the study, there is no connection.
“What we found was that drinking more than three cups of coffee a day did not significantly increase the stiffness of blood vessels compared to people who drink one cup or less a day. The main message for people to take away from this is that coffee can be enjoyed as part of a healthy lifestyle,” Kenneth Fung told CNN.
