Things are not always what they seem. Picture puzzles and optical illusions can really confuse your eyes and brain to perceive something that’s not really there, or even the opposite, to miss something that is obviously there.
These challenges have recently become huge online. Thousands of people challenge each other to see who can solve visual puzzles faster.
Optical illusions have always fascinated me. For example, you know when multiple circles in a pattern create squares. There are no squares, but that’s how you perceive it. This kind of things will have you rubbing your eyes in disbelief!
Back in my school days, things like that were very popular. Our math lessons on Fridays usually ended with the teacher handing out sheets with these kinds of puzzles – everyone was so concentrated that you could hear a pin drop in the class. Competition sparks such a beautiful side in people.
Can you find the error?
Recently, these optical illusions have started to re-appear online. But with a more modern twist, however, they still manage to get those neurons moving, so not much has changed, and it’s widely available. A win-win situation in my book.
The next image has been causing thousands to pull their hair in frustration. Something in this girl’s photo is very wrong, but can you see the error? Apparently, only 1 in 7 people can see it!
Okay, if you need a clue. Take a look at the girl’s hand. Do you see it now?
The answer is that thanks to someone editing the picture, this girl has now six fingers, which is not normal. You can see five, but behind the finger she has in her mouth, there is also a thumb.
Quite tricky, this picture, as I said, it’s photoshopped – and it almost becomes a bit scary!
